“Villa in the Desert” is a prototype of a villa in the deserts of Iran. This single-story house with 250 m2 of built area is located outside of the urban context of Kashan city. The altitude is 1000 meters above sea level.
It responds to the challenges of desert dwelling with simple, modern language while adapting itself to its environment like a living organism. All the living spaces are arranged around an interior courtyard benefiting from natural light and ventilation.
This refuge provides ample possibilities for resilience in arid climate while creating dynamic and playful connections between the inside space and the surrounding landscape.
