Amir Kharaghani and Elham Asgharpoor wrap a metal lattice around villa in iran.
architects Amir Kharaghani and Elham Asgharpoor designed an open and airy house located west of the tehran province in shahriar city, iran. the pegah villa is located in a 1100 sqm garden surrounded by fruit trees, an ideal opportunity to open the house to the garden. to achieve this, a delicate metal lattice was introduced,to create an aesthetic buffer between the exteriors and interiors.
by designing a highly interactive space, the architects created a close relationship between the house and the garden. by adding the thin structure, the connection to the outside was emphasized by the element that wraps around the house. this semi-transparent volume created spaces that are outside and inside the house at the same time.
the exterior spaces frame natural elements and bring in fresh air, which is perceived from the inside through the white lattice. according to the architects, ‘the intermediate space works just like a net…and connects and integrates with the building’. this permeable space evokes interaction and lets guests see through it.
