A memorable architectural event hosted by the Austrian Embassy in Iran

The unveiling ceremony of the 16th issue of Villa Magazine, titled "Villas in Austria", was held on Sunday, July 7, 2024, at the Austrian Embassy in Tehran, in collaboration with the Austrian Cultural Forum in Tehran.

The 16th issue serves as a gateway to explore Austria, showcasing the most iconic villa designs from this culturally rich country. Readers are invited on a journey to discover eco-architecture in Austrian villas through this special edition.

The event was attended by prominent figures, including the Austrian Ambassador to Iran, Mr. Wolf Dietrich Heim, several other ambassadors, the Head of the Cultural Section of the Austrian Embassy in Tehran, Ms. Siglinde Spanlang, the Director of the Austrian Cultural Forum in Tehran, Dr. Michaela Pacher, as well as architects, interior designers, and artists.

The ceremony began with remarks by Ms. Siglinde Spanlang, followed by speeches from Dr. Michaela Pacher, Ambassador Wolf Dietrich Heim, and Villa Magazine’s Editor-in-Chief, Mr. Amir Abbas Aboutalebi, who highlighted the cultural and scientific collaboration between Iran and Austria and discussed the concept of villas.

A panel discussion featuring architects and interior designers explored the concept of villas in Iran and globally, addressing contemporary issues in the field.

Notable attendees included architects and designers such as Pedideh Azin, Kamran Afshar Naderi, Hooman Balazadeh, Fatemeh Tajik, Kaveh Bazrafkan, Shervin Hosseini, Afshin Farzin, Babak Dariush, Mohammad Rahimi Zadeh, Mehrad Zavareh Mohammadi, Ali Sanjabi, Meghdad Sharif, Firouz Firouz, Morvarid Ghasemi, Sanaz Ghaem Maghami, Vahid Ghobadian, Habibeh Majdabadi, Babak Motalebi Nejad, Saba Manouchehri, Farshad Mahdizadeh, Hamid Nasernasir, and Christoph Woop.

It is worth noting that Ms. Negar Hakim, an architect based in Austria and the guest editor of this issue, was unable to attend the event.

The event concluded with a friendly gathering, hosted by the Austrian Embassy in Iran, featuring an afternoon reception. The warm hospitality of the embassy will remain a lasting memory for the Villa Magazine team.
