Iranian-German architect Hadi Teherani, renowned for his innovative and diverse work across architecture, urban planning, and design in multiple countries, received the VillaTV Honorary Architecture Prize from Villa Magazine on October 4, 2024. The award recognizes his Thatched Roof Villa on the island of Sylt, Germany. The project reinterprets traditional thatching as a sculptural envelope that blends organic texture with a contemporary form. The villa’s layout, inspired by the Persian charbagh geometry, combines glazed cubic volumes to optimize natural light and frame coastal views, establishing a new paradigm for modern villa living rooted in both tradition and innovation.

The prize, selected by the honorary advisors of Villa Magazine’s editorial board, honors outstanding villa projects on a global scale and was presented during the launch event of the first Villa Award book. The award aims to spotlight pioneering villa architecture, celebrating solo houses and experimental villas that push design boundaries internationally.

This honor underscores Teherani’s contribution to villa architecture and highlights the importance of visionary residential projects in shaping architectural discourse worldwide.
