Biography:
Peter Pichler Architecture is an award winning laboratory for architecture based in Milan.
They are a young, dynamic and experimental team dedicated to developing an innovative and contemporary approach to architecture.
Understanding tradition is the key to radical evolution. Hence, we incorporate close familiarity with local culture and respect for the natural environment into every single project. This credo builds our studio’s foundations and reflects the way we work. Our vision and team are the pillars of our success.
Profile Peter Pichler
Peter Pichler was born in Bolzano, Italy in 1982. He studied Architecture at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna, where he graduated with distinction in the masterclass of Zaha Hadid, as well as in the United States at the University of California (UCLA).
During his studies, Peter joined renowned architecture offices like Zaha Hadid Architects in London, Delugan Meissl in Vienna, and OMA / Rem Koolhaas in Rotterdam. After his graduation he worked as a project architect for Zaha Hadid Architects in Hamburg, researching and working on award winning projects and competitions in several countries. In 2015, he founded PETER PICHLER ARCHITECTURE in Milan together with his wife Silvana Ordinas.
Peter believes that architecture must have a strong bond with the culture and history of a specific place. He is interested in the analysis and research of vernacular architecture, materials, and elements that combined with technology can express a contemporary interpretation of
the past.
He was nominated young Italian talent by the National Chamber of Architects in Italy and was a finalist at the Gold Medal of Architecture Prize of the Triennale di Milano and at the Dezeen Awards for Emerging Architect of the Year. He is a winner of “40 under 40” among the Best Emerging Young Architects & Designers in Europe selected by The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
He is a registered Architect in Italy and a member of the order of Architects of the province of Milan.
Profile Silvana Ordinas
Silvana Ordinas was born in Mallorca, Spain in 1987. She holds an Executive Master degree in Marketing and Sales from SDA BOCCONI School of Management in Milan and ESADE Business School in Barcelona. She studied Tourism at the Universitat de les Illes Balears where she graduated in 2011. Throughout her university studies Silvana also pursued an international modelling career, working for multiple international brands and immersing herself in the world of style and design.
Following her degree Silvana joined her family real estate company in Mallorca as Project Manager, overseeing several projects from their design and construction phase to final sale, whilst supervising financial possibilities for future investments. Towards the end of 2015 Silvana and Peter founded the architecture
firm PETER PICHLER ARCHITECTURE in Milan where she is Studio Administration Manager, overseeing and directing clients, studio and financial strategies and decisions.
AWARDS
PPA designs have been recognized internationally and have received multiples awards and mentions from institutions worldwide.
The studio also takes an active part in architecture events around the globe. Peter
was an invited speaker at the 14th International Alvar Aalto Symposium in Finland, the
Venice Biennale of Architecture, and has conducted several workshops and lectures in
Asia.
